Overview
The Chitwan National Park (CNP) is a world heritage property, and it also contains a Ramsar Site – Beeshazari Tal in its buffer zone. The park has a history of over 3 decades in park management and a rich experience in resolving conflicts between the park and the people.
It is a rich natural area in the Terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile. All of these three are pretty common to see in the safari in Chitwan even if the tiger is a bit shy!
Short Itinerary
- Day 1:: Drive/fly to Chitwan. Arrival by late lunch. Activities start.
- Day 2:: Full day of safari, boating, village walk and bird and wildlife watching.
- Day 3:: Drive/fly back to Kathmandu or continue to your next destination.
Itinerary
It the package in Chitwan we include one or two jungle safaris, either by jeep or on elephant back. We recommend the jeep due to protection of elephants but can also conclude that we only use partners treating the elephants well having restrictions on their work and making sure they are safe.
Other includes are boating on the river, bird watching, jungle walk and a village walk. To add extra activities for your Chitwan package is not an issue. Let us know your special interests!
