Itinerary

Beyond Borders representative will receive you at the airport. You will be taken to the hotel for check in and get the rest of the day free to rest after your flight. In the evening we have a welcome dinner where your guide will give a more detailed briefing of your upcoming weeks.

After breakfast we take a walk through the local market, through the winding, narrow alleys all the way to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is one of the most impressive world heritage sites in the valley with its old pagoda temples and palace. Afternoon is free for preparation for the trek.

Today we leave Kathmandu and take a drive towards Syabrubesi which takes around seven to eight hours of drive journey. Our journey passes through the busy market settlement of Trisuli Bazaar and Dunche. From there we continue our drive towards Syabrubesi with magnificent views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan Ranges.

From Syabrubesi our trek starts as we follow the trail which heads through Chilime Khola valley. Our trail soon turns left heading west towards Thambuchet. From there we will trek over a rather decent trail to arrive at Gatlang for the overnight stay.

After breakfast we leave Gatlang and follow a broad trail that heads towards Parvati Kunda. Parvati is a Hindu Goddess, wife of Lord Shiva and Kunda means small lake. After a short excursion around the holy lake our trek continues as we pass through dense forest filled with rhododendron (blossoming time is March-April) and pine trees. Soon we will ascend to reach at the top of Khurpu Danda Pass at 3710 meters. From the top we will descend to reach Somdang.

Leaving Somdang our trek goes along densely forested area for some time and then traverse above a large kharka. Soon our trail is an ascending journey towards Pasang la pass at 3840 meters.  Once at the top our trail descends towards the beautifully terraced fields of Lawadun also known as Tipling.

After breakfast we will leave Tipling and begin to descend as we head for the crossing Adha river. After crossing the river our trail is a gradual ascending trek towards Shertung village. The village of Shertung is inhabited mainly by Tamang people.

From Shertung we will trek towards Chalish Gaon. After arriving at Chalish Gaon we will leave our belongings at the tea house and then walk towards the hot springs. Here we will rest at the natural hot water springs, wash away tiredness and sweat from the trek. Then we will be heading back to Chalish Gaon for an overnight stay. The people of this village are well known for their strong traditions and great craftmanship and in the evening the women group of Chalise will perform a welcome dance.
